LANDFILL METHANE MITIGATION

image: methane emissions from landfill sites, power generation
Generate power from methane emissions as weak as 1.5%.

Early landfills would produce 40% methane.  As these landfills are decommissioned, the gas quality drops.  New landfill have less organics and therefore lower energy content. When it reaches 30% there are no other technologies available to reduce emissions.
The Oxiperator can make power from as little as 1.5%.
Prabhu Energy Labs is an industry partner to the US EPA's Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP). LMOP is a voluntary program that works cooperatively with industry stakeholders and waste officials to reduce or avoid methane emissions from landfills.
